  • Description: Project BIMOBIS is based on the assumption of sustainable mobility as an opportunity for both coherent regional development and the existing marketing niche in the field of tourism. Based on the analysis made on the existing transport links, will be prepared an action plan for its improvement with a focus on investment unsophisticated measures. This project will build on the idea of ​​the establishment of cross-border cycle circuit that follows terrain relief and migration flows. In this way, also through two pilot investments, will be enabled the preparation of a new tourist product, but the project will also connect the tourism service providers along the route path to cross-links and the spread of tourism. The total value of the project is 1.5 million €, and will last 30 months from 08.15.2012 to 14.02.2014, the scope of Goriška statistical region in Slovenia and the Province of Udine and Gorizia in Italy. Planned activities: Project activities are divided into three parts. The first part is for activities related to cross-border and environmentally friendly accessibility and mobility. There will be prepared the analysis of existing national and cross-border links in the project area, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly means of mobility, and the comparison between the two countries. The next step will be elaborated an action plan for increasing sustainable mobility between urban and rural areas. The second set is the core of the project and provides for the establishment of cross-border cycling circuit. Activities include a detailed plan the most appropriate course for regional cycling circuit, a study on additional bicycle routes and marking the route with the implementation of pilot investments in the two sections of the regional cycling circuit. The last set of activities developed for the integration of regional cycling routes in tourism. It is the creation of a new round of cycling tourism product by linking the various tourism providers and products along the route. The expected results are: - Analysis and plan of existing long-distance and cross-border transport links, - An action plan for increasing sustainable mobility between urban and rural areas, - Prepared a detailed plan of the alignment of cross-border regional cycling connections - Plan of additional bicycle routes linked to regional cross-border cycling circle - Implementation of two investments in the route of cross-border regional cycling connections. The investment in the Slovenian side includes cycling path between Tolmin and Most na Soci and on the Italian side includes part of the route between Cividale and San Pietro Al Natisone. - Installation of signs and other maintenance work along the entire route of the cycling circuit, - Designed travel plans bicycle routes to contain precise descriptions of routes, travel guides along the cycling routes. - The establishment of cross-border links between tourism providers along the route. - The project website.
