  • Description:
    LEX Standard Project’s aim is to upgrade the collaboration established during the past European programmes between the Italian minority in Slovenia and the Slovenian Minority in Italy in order to promote and share their common identity and historical heritage, as well as to support the legislative protection of both minorities.
    The project’s primary objective is to enable full social integration of both minorities in their respective Countries and reference areas in order to overcome prejudices and national linguistic barriers that still exist as a result of past events.

    WP1: Coordination and management: a Joint Steering Committee and a Scientific Committee will be created.
    WP2: Research activities about legislation: partners will analyse the existing laws for the protection of minority rights, i.e.:
    1 screening of the existing legislation, with particular reference to the Italian and Slovenian minorities;
    1 analysis on the implementation and compliance with the legislation by public and private bodies;
    1 sociological research to define how stakeholders actually perceive the implementation of laws;
    1 analysis to assess the effects of European and national acts and their practical implementation on preserving and promoting the identity of minority languages and cultures;
    1 analysis to assess the perception that people have about the effects caused by the adopted legislation and regulations.
    WP3: Educational and scientific-legislative activities:
    4 workshops for identifying the reasons for the poor implementation of the adopted legislation as well as the reasons for the on-going assimilation processes.
    The workshops will be followed by 4 round tables for analysing, reviewing and discussing the produced material.
    Partners will organise 18 meetings with secondary schools students in Slovenia and Italy for discussing historical-juridical thematic packages.
    WP4: Bilingual publications:
    the bilingual collection of laws in two volumes will include:
    the legislative frameworks, the results of researches carried out in WP2 and the analyses and models developed in WP3;
    1 brochure on legislation in relation to the Italian and Slovenian minorities.
    WP5: Communication plan: 3 study conferences will be organised.

    The project’s objective is to organically promote, through the above mentioned mechanisms, the values of multilingualism and multiculturalism, as well as of identities, cultures and characteristics of the people living in the Programme area.
