The main goal is the establishment of functional cross-border center in the field of medical genetics in order to improve accessibility and quality of genetic centers in the region.
Activities:
1) establishment of a network of clinical and genetic diagnostic institutions of the cross-border region,
2) to create a database of therapeutic and rehabilitation centers for genetic diseases in the region,
3) to develop genetic services and to establish long distance communication between experts with the use of innovative telemedicine technology,
4) to develop effective educational and informational resources and activities in the field of medical genetics for all major interest groups, especially for the lay public and medical professionals.
Results:
To improve coordination between public health institutions and their cooperation with universities, as well as the access to key experts in the cross-border region. It will consequently reduce the disparities in access of health services in the region and improve the quality of life due to the coordinated development of health and social system.
