The project aims to reduce the risks to the environment and biodiversity through the implementation of structures and initiatives aimed at improving the design and management of sewerage systems in the area.
These initiatives include updating and arrangement and enhancement of networks for waste water management, with the municipalities of Nova Gorica and Premariacco and the other activities of the organization of study and research, exchange of experiences , sharing best practices and the dissemination of results that will be implemented in a wider area in Slovenia and Italy (Veneto and Emilia Romagna).
The direct effects of this project (and 5 other related projects evaluated in the same announcement) will affect the Isonzo river basin, on which is continuously measured pollution due to reduced capacity for wastewater management in the border region that adversely affects the environmental balance of the whole Northern Adriatic.
