The main purpose of the project is to develop a cycling network on the cross-border territory accompanied by an infrastructure network and an intermodal network.
The planned activities include: the developing of a project for the main cycling track with links to local roads and intermodal networks that allow travel without interruptions from Ravenna to Kranjska Gora, the preparation of a study with the proposal for a unified system of tracks’ identification, the construction of individual sections of the missing tracks, the preparation of a database and a digital infrastructure for the geographic information system, the creation of a web site, preparing a cycling guide in four languages with a geographic map and the project’s promotion to the audience.
The full value of the project amounts to € 3,514,000. It will run for four years and it will be implemented in the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia on the Italian side and statistical regions Obalno-Kraska, Gorenjska Goriška and on the Slovenian side.
