  • Project title: Italian-Slovenian partnership to promote naturalistic tourism

  • Priority task: Economic cooperation
  • Project measure: Measure 2.2 - Cross-border cooperation in the tourism

  • Project code: CCFVG222464
  • Users: Consorzio IL MOSAICO
  • Partner:
    Antica K. K. Friauler Eisenbahn S.r.l. (Grado)
DOPPS - BirdLife Slovenia - Društvo za opazovanje in proučevanje ptic Slovenije

  • Description: The project is the result of the current cooperation between the consortium “Il Mosaico” – in charge of the Natural reserve “Foce dell’Isonzo” – and DOPPS (Birdlife Slovenia); both bodies are in charge of wetlands in the Upper Adriatic area which are recognized at a European level as sites of naturalistic relevance. Based on common needs and opportunities, this initiative intends to implement actions to increase the visibility and knowledge of the two naturalistic areas through the implementation of three separate phases: the development of a territorial marketing strategy; the publication of multi-language promotion material, the participation to fairs in Italy and abroad. This falls within a wider European context focused on wetlands, and entitled “Wetland”, aimed at developing, based on existing knowledge and relations between the partners - a permanent network for the promotion of eco-sustainable tourism in the cross-border area, including both public and private operators. The project also entails a number of joint tourist promotion strategies and initiatives, aimed at developing tourist packages centred on the natural reserves present in the area of reference.
