  • Description: The project SHARTEC aims to improve cross-border cooperation of companies specialized in the production of precision mechanical components. Specifically, intermediate objectives are: 1) the mapping of technical excellence and innovative strategies in the area, 2) the development of a knowledge base of common technique to facilitate the exchange of technical information, 3) to promote cooperative actions of innovation and demonstrate the benefits of joint research and development. Project goals: The main goal of the project is to promote the economic growth of companies focused on the production of high precision mechanical components by creating a cross-border platform for supporting the mutual exchange of technological information, presentation of competencies in the area and implementation of common activities. The project has 6 work packages (WP): WP1 - Coordination and management,WP2 – Situation description and setting up the data base, WP3 – Promote innovation strategies, WP4 – Technical training, WP5 – Research and development, WP6 – Communication plan; The mapping of companies and research centers in the area within WP2 will be performed with the aim obtaining a databank which will contain relevant information concerning the technical capabilities and excellences in the area, both for companies and research centers. Specifically, the investigation will be focused on technical competences, machinery, innovative production systems and innovation procedures. The aim is to obtain a tool (the database) useful for companies in the area to find partners for business of joined research activities. Moreover, the needs in terms of advanced technical training will be obtained and used to determine advanced courses in WP4 and to define the joined research activities. The aim of WP3 is to increase the creativity and innovation potentials in companies and to come up to concrete and innovative solutions. The task will be obtained via focused training and workshop activities. The concept of the up to date creativity and innovation management techniques, open innovation paradigm and cross-border platform are the most important base for performing the concept. Basic and advanced technical courses in English language will be proposed in WP4 according to other WPs in order to create a shared technological background and to deepen the knowledge in specific areas. The aim of these activities is to favor and enhance the exchange of technical information and to promote partnerships for research and innovation projects in area of common interest. Also, in WP5 joined research activities with tasks to be performed by partners both in Friuli and in Slovenia will be carried out. The research activities will be focused on problems emerging from the mapping of companies and in collaboration with research centers in the area. The main outcomes of this work package are the results of the research activities which will be useful to solve technical issues and investigate the possibilities and benefits in terms of joined research activities. In order to reach target groups in the cross border area involved in the project, a communication plan (WP 6) will be prepared and shared among the partners. A project web page will be created in order to give visibility to the produced results during the whole roject lifespan. Contents will be available in Italian and Slovenian language. A Data Base of competences (realized within WP2 activities) will be linked to and a direct access will be available from the project web page. Information about training courses will be published on the web page as well.
