13.08.2013 EC DAY 2013 - Triple border hikingOn September, 21 2013 the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013, in cooperation with the Interreg VI Italy-Austria 2007-2013 Programme and the Operational Programme Slovenia-Austria 2007-2013, organize a joint hiking to the Triple border (called Peč or Tromeja in Slovene, Monte Forno in Italian and Dreiländereck or Ofen in German). At 1508 m altitude lays the triple point stone, indicating the tri-border area where the borders of Italy, Slovenia and Austria meet. The excursion will start from Rateče, a village in Slovenia, situated near the border with Italy and will follow the marked trail to the top of the hill for a nearly two hour walk. The trail is easy and suitable for everyone wearing proper footwear. On the top of the hill a small ceremony organized by the three Managing Authorities of the Programmes will take place.
