08.03.2011 Strategic project CARSO-KRAS
The opening ceremony of the Karst Information Centre realized by the strategic project CARSO-KRAS, co financed by the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013, took place at the premises of the Sežana Municipality on March, 4 2011.
The Karst Information Centre construction is one of the most important steps of the cross-border strategic project CARSO-KRAS: Sustainable management of natural resources and territorial cohesion, which gathers 17 partners from both sides of the border. The investment of € 400,000 was made during the first year of implementation of the project. Other similar activities are planned both on the Italian territory and in Slovenia.
During the event, which was attended by Authorities’ representatives, the project was presented and the importance of the Karst as a single and continuous area was stressed. The participants expressed the desire for the implementation of the contents of the project and the independent developing in the coming years, also without the support of European funding.
