23.08.2009 In Portorož the second day devoted to the launch of two public calls on the CBC Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013

Portorož, 14. 7. 2009 – The Info Point of the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013, operating within the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Local Self-Government and Regional Policy, held an Info Day devoted to the launch of two public calls on the CBC Programme Italy-Slovenia for the programming period 2007-2013 in cooperation with the Italian Managing Authority and Joint Technical Secretariat.

Both public calls, namely the Public call for the submission of strategic projects no. 01/2009 and the Public call for the submission of standard projects no. 02/2009 were published in the Official Bullettin of the Friuli venezia Giulia autonomous Region and in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia dated July, 3rd 2009.

The deadline for submission of applications to participate in the second step of Public call for the submission of strategic projects No.1/2009 allocating EUR 40 million is September, 10th 2009. The deadline for submission of applications to participate in the second step of Public call for the submission of standard projects No.2/2009 (allocation EUR 60 million) is October, 15th 2009.

The Info Day was attended by more than 250 participants mainly from the Slovene programme-area. The event was divided into two sections: a morning meeting for participants in the second stage of the Public call for the submission of strategic projects (86 project proposals were admitted) and an afternoon meeting devoted to applicants for the public call for standard projects.

The preliminary speeches by representative of the City of Piran Igor Maher, representative of the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Local Self-Government and Regional Policy Dimitrij Pur and representative of the Managing Authority Laura Comelli emphasized the keen interest shown in the CBC programmes which promoted a number of partnerships strengthening border people relations.

The representatives of the JTS, which operates within the Trieste Managing Authority and is composed of Italian and Slovene representatives, illustrated the details of public call documents, underlined each participation rule and expounded both Financial Plan and Project Form, whereas the representative of the Slovene Ministry of Finance outlined the issue of State Aid.
